Fred Gerling speaks at the SVG annual meeting
New York City, New York, December 15, 2014:
The Sports Video Group’s annual meeting was convened with a great attendance by members representing both the Sports Broadcasting Networks and the Mobile Production Services vendors. During the many meetings and workshops held, issues that the industry deals with every day were voiced and discussed by the best of the business.
Fred Gerling, President of Gerling and Associates, was provided a time to speak to the group assembled and spoke in detail about the CARB (California Air Resources Board) and the EPA Smart Way initiatives. Fred spoke about how these initiatives are both now, and will be, impacting the entire fleet of Remote Television Production vehicles. Fred provided detail on several bureaucratic issues that may in near future set a series of events into motion that could cause a high value show to be missed. Fred then appealed to all at SVG and the organization of SVG to work together to gain a total fleet exemption by gaining an EPA Smart Way exception for the entire fleet.
This very important topic is to again be reviewed at the NAB meeting of the SVG and all its members.
One highlight again for G&A in this meeting was the noting of the fleet inventory and that G&A is still providing over 90% of all the new Remote Television Production Trucks and trailers used in North America.
